So this was suppose to be our epic trip where we had planned to trekk to Tosh and Kheerganga from Kasol which sadly couldn’t materialise but I’l come to that later. 9 of us planned a trip to Rishikesh and the Parvati Valley in Himachal around the mid-third week of February,2015. Now I’m a guy who does a lot of planning and detailing before undertaking a trip and I’ve this nagging habit of doing it myself instead of sharing it with my friends probably because I have an OCD about it. So I booked a travella fit enough for 10 people to pick us up from Delhi Rail . Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town. About 60 local youth, both male and females are employed as Guides, Gardeners, Service providers, Ticket Collectors, Information Providers etc. It houses a protected patch of small forest containing Deodar Trees.There is an entry fee of Rs 25 For Adults and Rs 10 for Children. The adventure sports facility is available for visitors in the form of walking over the flying fox and burma bridges and riding horses. There is also a facility for visitors to plant a sapling of tree species in the memory of their beloved, which is called as memory sapling plantation.Mussoorie Forest Department is running Eco-huts for the tourists come to enjoy serene landscapes of Dhanaulti.
