You would have known about Pattaya. You would have heard that it is a nightlife city. And if you are not a night person, you are probably thinking that visiting Pattaya is not a good idea. Your thought might be right, but wait just a little. Do you actually think there are only visitors for nightlife in a popular city as Pattaya? You don’t think so, do you? In that case, you might ask how those visitors enjoy Pattaya, and what things to do in Pattaya Thailand are, apart from nightlife.
When his army arrived in the vicinity of what is now Pattaya, Phraya Tak encountered the troops of a local leader named Nai Klom, who tried to intercept him. When the two met face to face, Nai Klom was impressed by Phraya Tak’s dignified manner and his army’s strict discipline. He surrendered without a fight and joined his forces. The place the armies confronted each other was thereafter known as “Thap Phraya”, which means the “army of the Phraya”. This later became Pattaya, the name of the wind blowing from the south-west to the north-east at the beginning of the rainy season.
Only a little nap could bring you from Bangkok to Pattaya. It is the nap that could give you an experience to tell anybody you have ever been in Pattaya. After a visit, you will then know whether you like it or not, but hopefully you like it. Pattaya Elephant Village
Pattaya Elephant Village is an attraction in Pattaya that provides information about Thai elephant. It is a popular place for foreign visitors. Also, Pattaya Elephant village also focus on elephant prevention, so this place would not be an issue for nature-loving visitors. Apart from providing the information, the village also offers touring the village by riding on an elephant, where it is normal package and trekking one (more expensive). This village can be seen as an alternative attraction style in Pattaya. Its location is 2 kilometers on the right of Suthawat Temple.
Pattaya Elephant Village was established in 1973 as an alternative habitat of ex-hard-working elephants. This is because these elephants seems to be unable to do hard work in the forest anymore (the reasons can be injuries, illnesses, or condition). The village then brings elephants here for preventing the existence of Thai Elephant in the future.
In the elephant village, visitors will be provided with the purpose of the village establishment, the information of how to take care elephants such as feeding, training, bathing, controlling the elephant to move on a direction, safely catching a wild elephant, and so on. Certainly, the information is provided in English language because main visitors are not Thai. Visitors can also take a photo with the elephants.
Mini Siam
One of most popular places in Pattaya definitely includes Mini Siam. It presents a collection of models of important places in the world in order to make visitors feel like they are going to many countries in a day. The examples of these models are the Tower Bridge, Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and Trevi Fountain, Taj Mahal , Wat Phra Kaew, and so on. Mini Siam is also easy to go as it is located at the main Street of Pattaya.
After preparing information for the project for a year, Mini Siam was established in 1986 by Mr.Kasem KasemKietsakul. Before establishing Mini Siam, Mr.Kasem traveled to many countries. After visiting models of places for tourism – Madurodum in Netherlands and Window on China in Taiwan, he came up with developing similar idea in Thailand because he believes that there are a lot of interesting places in Thailand to be presented as well.
In Mini Siam, There are a number of well known locations presented in 1:25. There are 2 zones set for tourism. The first one is Mini Siam Zone. Visitors will see ancient monuments such as Phra Ram 9 Bridge, Prasat Hin Phimine, Thai democratic monument and so on. The other one is Mini Europe Zone. In this zone, visitors will see renowned architectures from Europe and America in Mini size including Eiffel Tower, Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, and many more.
